Komprise launches universal MCP tool to cut AI bloat
Komprise has launched Universal File MCP, a single interface allowing AI agents to query any enterprise data source regardless of location. The tool addresses what the company calls MCP bloat, a proliferation of vendor-specific MCP servers that overloads AI with redundant tool definitions, reducing accuracy and inflating token costs. Komprise says nearly 60% of agentic token consumption stems from repeated response refinement loops. The new tool filters irrelevant data, enforces user-specific access permissions, and uses enriched metadata to send agents only the information they need, spanning multivendor NAS, object, cloud, and application storage.
