IBM Bob agentic platform now supports on-prem deployment

IBM announced a self-hosted deployment option for IBM Bob, its agentic software development platform, enabling enterprises to run AI-assisted development within their own infrastructure. The offering supports on-premises, private-cloud, sovereign-cloud and air-gapped environments, targeting organizations with sensitive source code, regulated data or critical systems. Customers can run supported models locally, with current support for Nvidia Nemotron and Poolside Laguna, or use hybrid configurations connecting to external services. IBM cited a survey finding that 68% of executives find meeting data residency and sovereignty requirements challenging. IBM shares rose more than 3% following the announcement.
