HP and McKinsey experts say strong data governance is essential as AI expands how sustainability information drives business decisions. Speaking at Workiva's Amplify event, HP Chief Sustainability Officer Jen Huffstetler and McKinsey advisor Kristen Siemen stressed that accurate, controlled data is the foundation for AI-assisted reporting and regulatory compliance. HP, operating in over 180 countries, treats sustainability data with the same rigor as financial data. The company has integrated compliance data into customer-facing products, giving IT buyers real-time carbon footprint visibility for PC fleets. Both speakers called transparency foundational for market access.
