Greek AI Software Transforms Right Ventricle Diagnosis
Greek researchers at the Archimedes AI Research Center have developed software using artificial intelligence to evaluate the heart's right ventricle through standard 2D echocardiograms. The tool, created by cardiologist Polydoros Kampaktsis and data scientist Archontis Giannakidis, is undergoing clinical trials at Athens' Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center.
Early results show over 90% accuracy in trials involving 200 patients, rivaling costly MRI scans. The software runs on low computing power, making it deployable on laptops and mobile phones, potentially transforming routine cardiac care worldwide.
