Googles Dolphin AI Transforms Marine Communication Study - DeepMind's AI lab has created DolphinGemma, an AI model designed to decipher dolphin vocalizations and improve the understanding of dolphin communication. Trained using data from the Wild Dolphin Project, DolphinGemma can generate dolphin-like sounds and operates efficiently on smartphones.
The Wild Dolphin Project will utilize Google's Pixel 9 to produce synthetic dolphin sounds and analyze real ones for responses. The upgrade to Pixel 9 enables the simultaneous processing of AI models and algorithms, enhancing research capabilities in the field of dolphin communication.
