Currently in limited testing, a broader release is expected next year. Despite advancements, AI Overviews have been criticized for citing unreliable sources.
The feature has boosted Search engagement, particularly among young users, but brought publisher concerns about traffic loss from monetization. The Justice Department's antitrust lawsuit against Google also targets the AI Overviews feature.
