Google Staff Demand Ban on Military AI Use
Over 600 Google employees have signed a letter to CEO Sundar Pichai demanding the company block the Pentagon from using its AI models for classified purposes. Organizers claim signers include staff from Google's DeepMind AI lab, along with more than 20 principals, directors, and vice presidents.
The letter represents a significant internal pushback against military applications of Google's AI technology, echoing past employee protests over government contracts.
