Google Revamps Gemini Enterprise for Autonomous AI Agents

Google Cloud has unveiled a major overhaul of Gemini Enterprise at Google Cloud Next 2026, aiming to shift AI from a productivity tool into an autonomous business engine. The platform introduces long-running agents with persistent memory, unique digital identities, and governed access to eliminate the human-in-the-loop bottleneck slowing enterprise automation. New features include a low-code Agent Designer, a centralized agent Inbox, shared workspaces via Projects and Canvas, and support for Bring Your Own Model Context Protocol. An Agent Marketplace connects enterprises to third-party agents from partners including ServiceNow, Oracle, and Accenture.
