Google Launches Gemini-Based Text Embedding Model - Google has launched Gemini Embedding, an experimental text embedding model from its Gemini AI family, through its developer API. This model transforms text semantics into numerical representations and is said to outperform Google's previous text-embedding-004 model by supporting larger text and over 100 languages.
Gemini Embedding is aimed at applications such as document retrieval and classification, offering strong performance in areas like finance, science, and legal. Although currently in an experimental phase, Google intends to release a stable version soon.
