Google Commits Up to $40B in Anthropic
Google plans to invest up to $40 billion in Anthropic, starting with $10 billion now at a $350 billion valuation, with $30 billion more tied to performance targets. The deal also expands Google Cloud's computing support, providing 5 gigawatts of capacity over five years.
The investment comes as Anthropic races to secure infrastructure amid surging demand and complaints about usage limits. The company has also secured a $5 billion Amazon investment and a CoreWeave data center deal. Anthropic's valuation has reportedly climbed to $800 billion, with an IPO potentially coming as soon as October.
