Google Cloud Signs Billion-Dollar Deal With Thinking Machines
Thinking Machines Lab, the AI startup led by former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, has partnered with Google Cloud in a deal valued in the single-digit billions. The company will expand its use of Google Cloud infrastructure, including A4X Max instances powered by Nvidia Blackwell Ultra GPUs, making it one of the first customers to use Google's NVL72 setup. Thinking Machines already uses several Google Cloud services including Cloud Storage, Spanner, and Cluster Director. The deal follows a recent significant investment from Nvidia, which also includes plans for the startup to purchase billions in Nvidia hardware, including next-generation Rubin GPUs.
