GitHub, Microsoft Back Anthropics AI Data Spec - GitHub and Microsoft have joined Anthropic's steering committee for the MCP standard, which facilitates AI models connecting to various data sources. This move, announced at Microsoft's Build 2025, aligns with OpenAI and Google's support of MCP. The protocol allows developers to create two-way data connections for AI applications.
Microsoft plans to integrate MCP into Azure and Windows 11, enhancing app functionalities available to AI models. Additionally, GitHub is helping design a registry service for MCP servers to streamline discovery and implementation.
