Generare Raises $23M to Unlock Microbial Drug Data
Paris-based biotech Generare Bioscience has raised €20 million ($23.3M) in a Series A round co-led by Alven and Daphni to build the world's largest dataset of undiscovered molecular chemistry for drug development. The company uses AI to unlock molecular data buried in microbial genomes, where 97% remains unread. Founded in 2023, Generare discovered over 200 new molecules in 2025 alone — dwarfing the industry's combined output. The funding will help scale discovery capacity 10-fold by 2027, targeting 2,000+ molecules annually, while doubling its 25-person team of scientists and engineers.
