Gemini Nano 4 Coming to Android Flagships Soon
Google is previewing Gemini Nano 4, a faster on-device AI model set to power upcoming Android flagships later this year. The new Gemma 4 model runs up to four times faster than previous versions, uses 60% less battery, supports 140+ languages, and handles text, images, and audio — all without cloud connectivity.
Developers can begin building apps now using the AICore preview, with code carrying over to supported devices at launch. Performance will vary by hardware, with devices lacking newer AI chips potentially falling back to slower CPU processing. Specific phone models and pricing have yet to be announced.
