Europes Companies Seek AI Act Delay - A coalition of 44 major European companies, including Airbus and Mercedes-Benz, is calling for a two-year pause on the EU's AI Act, arguing it may hinder innovation and competitiveness against the U.S. and China. They claim the Act's unclear regulations could stall AI development and lead to fragmented national standards.
The AI Act became law in August 2024, but key measures are yet to be implemented, causing business concern. The EU Commission remains committed to its goals, amid heated negotiations to simplify the Act's rollout.
