EU Funds AI Tools to Fight AI Disinformation

EU-funded researchers are developing AI-powered tools to help journalists detect fake images, videos, and text. Two projects, AI4Media and AI4Trust, bring together universities, media organisations, and tech companies to verify digital content and track disinformation campaigns across Europe. AI4Media integrates detection tools into newsroom workflows, while AI4Trust monitors how disinformation spreads across social media in real time. Together, they address both the creation and amplification of fake content, which researchers warn is increasingly used to influence elections and undermine public trust.
