Era4 links UK AI infrastructure to financial sovereignty

Era4 Ltd. is building a network of UK-owned AI facilities powered by self-generated energy, combining domestic infrastructure control with redevelopment of former industrial sites. Chief commercial officer Karl Havard argues financial sovereignty means keeping service revenue within the UK economy, not just locating hardware domestically. Era4's planned Newport, Wales site on a 230-acre former steelworks would dedicate roughly 20% to AI infrastructure, with the remainder including a vocational tech college, sports facilities, and conservation areas for local communities.
