Elorian launches Glimpse, an AI that truly sees
Elorian, a Palo Alto startup that raised a $55 million seed round at a $300 million valuation, has released its first model, Glimpse, as a research preview with API access and a chat interface. Unlike most multimodal models that convert images to tokens once and reason in text, Glimpse repeatedly returns to the source image mid-reasoning, cropping regions, pulling video frames, and running code in what Elorian calls a visual scratch space. Trained on a few hundred GPUs, Glimpse costs $0.60 per million input tokens and $3 per million output tokens. Elorian claims it outperforms GPT-6 Astra on scientific chart reasoning and video captioning.
