Eclipse Raises $1.3B for Robotics and AI
Venture capital firm Eclipse has raised $1.3 billion to invest in startups operating in physical industries including AI infrastructure, manufacturing, and defense. The fundraise, disclosed in SEC filings, includes $720 million for early-stage startups and $591 million for later-stage deals, marking the firm's largest haul to date.
Founded in 2015, Eclipse is an early backer of AI chipmaker Cerebras and has also invested in self-driving startup Wayve and battery company Redwood Materials. The raise reflects growing investor appetite for hard tech companies amid AI advancements and geopolitical pressures.
