Denmark Tackles Deepfakes with Feature Copyright Law - Denmark plans to amend copyright laws to allow citizens to copyright their body, facial features, and voice, providing stronger protections against deepfake technology. This initiative, supported across political parties, seeks to protect individuals' identities from non-consensual AI-generated content. Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt highlighted the new laws' importance in affirming personal rights in the AI era.
In contrast, the U.S. faces potential challenges with state-level deepfake regulations due to a federal proposal that could limit state power over AI legislation for a decade. This proposal may hinder individual states' ability to enforce their regulations, affecting their efforts to combat deepfake issues effectively.
