DeepSeek V4 Challenges Google, OpenAI, Anthropic

Chinese AI firm DeepSeek has previewed its next-generation V4 model, claiming it rivals leading closed-source systems from Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic. The open-source model shows major improvements in coding and notably highlights compatibility with domestic Huawei chips. The release comes roughly a year after DeepSeek's R1 model shocked the US AI industry by claiming low training costs. DeepSeek has not disclosed V4's training details, while US officials allege use of banned Nvidia chips and Anthropic claims DeepSeek misused its Claude model.
