Daniel Gross Joins Metas New AI Lab - Daniel Gross, former CEO of Safe Superintelligence Inc. (SSI), has joined Meta's new Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL). Previously, Meta tried to purchase SSI, valued at $32 billion, but changed its approach after facing resistance. Ilya Sutskever, co-founder with Gross, will now head SSI. Meta hopes to gain an indirect stake through Gross's venture firm, NFDG.
MSL is co-led by Nat Friedman and Alexander Wang, focusing on AI with substantial investments and top researchers, including former OpenAI personnel. Meta may continue acquiring companies and talent to expand its AI capabilities further.
