Cohere Unveils Aya Vision AI Model - Cohere For AI introduced Aya Vision, a multimodal AI model that reportedly outperforms larger models in visual understanding tasks. Accessible for free via WhatsApp, Aya Vision supports 23 languages and utilizes synthetic annotations to improve efficiency and lower resource use. It includes 32B and 8B variants, both excelling in key evaluations compared to some competitors.
Cohere also launched AyaVisionBench, a benchmark suite for assessing vision-language models. The company aims to address language performance disparities while providing the research community with broad, efficient, and accessible AI resources.
