Chrome AI Mode Gets Split-Screen Web Search

Google has revamped AI Mode in Chrome with a split-screen feature that opens linked webpages alongside the AI interface. Users can browse cited sites, compare options, and ask follow-up questions without switching tabs, with AI scanning both the open page and the wider web for answers. Additional updates allow users to search across open Chrome tabs by selecting them via a new plus menu, and to upload files like images and PDFs for added context. The updates are rolling out in the U.S. first, with other regions to follow.
