Chesky: AI agents need a dedicated operating system

Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky rolled out AI-powered search this week and shared his broader vision for AI interfaces. He argues chatbots are poor fits for travel browsing because they show few options at a time and lack collaborative features for group trip planning. Airbnb plans to explore multiplayer AI interfaces over the next three to six months. Chesky also sees Airbnb eventually becoming an AI agent interoperable with other apps via standards like MCP. His central argument is that the industry still lacks a true operating system built specifically for AI agents.
