ChatGPT adds PIN-protected locked chats feature

OpenAI has launched Locked Chats, letting ChatGPT users secure conversations with a four-digit PIN or biometric authentication. Unlike Temporary Chats, locked conversations are saved and accessible later, stored in a dedicated section separate from regular history and search results. With Memory enabled, Locked Chats maintains its own separate memory that won't bleed into regular conversations. OpenAI notes the feature does not provide end-to-end encryption, alter data retention, or change model training settings. Resetting a PIN permanently deletes all locked content. The feature is available across Free, Plus, Pro, and other plans, excluding ChatGPT for Healthcare.
