British AI Startup Raises $1.1B for Superlearner

Ineffable Intelligence, a British AI startup founded just months ago, has raised $1.1 billion in seed funding at a $5.1 billion valuation. The round was led by Lightspeed Ventures and Sequoia Capital, with participation from Nvidia, Google, and the UK Sovereign AI Fund, among others. The company, led by former DeepMind researcher David Silver, aims to build an AI superlearner capable of generating entirely new knowledge rather than relying on existing data. Using reinforcement learning without pre-training, the startup believes its approach could accelerate scientific research and engineering breakthroughs.
