AWS Announces General Availability of Amazon Aurora DSQL

May 28, 2025: AWS Launches Aurora DSQL: Faster, Stronger, Serverless - AWS has introduced Amazon Aurora DSQL, a serverless, distributed SQL database that offers multi-Region strong consistency and PostgreSQL compatibility. It boasts speeds up to four times faster than existing distributed databases and is available in eight AWS Regions. Aurora DSQL addresses the common trade-offs between latency and consistency, providing automated failure recovery and independent scaling without the need for sharding.

The database simplifies AI integration through a Model Context Protocol server, making it well-suited for various workloads, such as financial transactions and social media applications. It ensures minimal operational overhead, offering a robust solution for diverse needs without the complexity of traditional systems.
