AWS Adds OpenAI Models and Codex to Bedrock

Amazon Web Services has made OpenAI's large language models and Codex programming assistant available on its cloud platform through Amazon Bedrock, following OpenAI's revised partnership agreement with Microsoft that now allows competing cloud providers to distribute its models. AWS also launched Bedrock Managed Agents, a new service designed to simplify building OpenAI-powered AI agents. The move follows Amazon's $15 billion investment in OpenAI earlier this year. Available in limited preview, the integrations include GPT-5.5, OpenAI's newest model, along with Codex tools including a desktop app, Visual Studio Code extension, and command-line agent. Usage counts toward existing AWS spending commitments.
