Apple Unlocks Offline AI for Developers - Apple has launched the Foundation Models framework, allowing developers to use its on-device AI models offline. Unveiled at WWDC 2025, this development lets apps offer AI-driven experiences without cloud expenses, boosting engagement and privacy. Integrated with Swift, it requires minimal coding for access.
Automattic and AllTrails are already using this technology for personalized features. The framework is available for testing through the Apple Developer Program, with a public beta anticipated next month.
