Apple introduces live translation across Messages, FaceTime, and Phone at WWDC 25

June 9, 2025: Apple Launches Live Translation Across Devices - At WWDC 2025, Apple introduced Live Translation for Messages, FaceTime, and Phone, utilizing on-device Apple Intelligence. This feature maintains privacy by processing translations locally, offering seamless, real-time text and voice translations. In Messages, texts are translated as you type, and FaceTime provides live captioning. For phone calls, spoken translations happen in real-time, regardless of the recipient's device.

Developers can integrate this feature easily through a new API. Despite these advancements, Apple has not disclosed the number of supported languages.
