Amazon Triples Nvidia GPU Order Amid AI Surge

Amazon and Nvidia announced a major expanded partnership, with Amazon adding 2 million Nvidia GPU chips to AWS data centers in 2027 and 2028. This triples a previous deal struck just five months ago for over 1 million GPUs, driven by surging demand from startups, enterprises, AI labs, and governments. The partnership goes beyond chip purchases, integrating Nvidia's networking hardware, software, CPUs, and robotics platform across AWS. This comes even as Amazon develops its own competing AI chips, including Trainium and Graviton. Nvidia also reported record quarterly sales of $96.2 billion, with data center revenue up 117% year over year.
