Amazon commits $13B more to India AI
Amazon announced an additional $13 billion investment to expand its AI and cloud infrastructure in India through 2030, bringing its total commitments in the country to $48 billion. The funds will expand Amazon Web Services data center capacity in Mumbai and Hyderabad, announced after CEO Andy Jassy met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The move follows similar bets by Microsoft and Google, who pledged $17.5 billion and $15 billion respectively for India AI infrastructure. Amazon is also expanding its retail footprint, adding fulfillment centers, delivery stations, and extending its quick-commerce service Amazon Now to over 300 cities.
