AIR Security raises $50M for AI agent firewall

AIR Security launched with $50 million in funding to build an inline firewall for AI agents, addressing security gaps as coding agents autonomously access third-party plugins and MCP servers without oversight. The platform maps running agents, screens incoming tools and instructions before execution, and blocks untrusted content at runtime. Sequoia Capital led a $10M seed round with Greenoaks leading a follow-on $40M raise. Research from AIR found over 17,800 public AI add-ons with unverified external instructions and fake skills impersonating Anthropic and OpenAI capable of running arbitrary code. The New York-based company, founded by Israeli Unit 8200 veterans, counts over 20 enterprise clients and will use the funding to expand hiring and sales across the US and Europe.
