AI Agents Hit Data Access and Governance Hurdles
Enterprises deploying AI agents are finding that role-based access control, not model selection, determines whether those agents can be trusted in production. Rising inference costs, privacy concerns, and data sovereignty demands are also pushing AI workloads back into corporate data centers. Cloudera is responding with its Cloudera Anywhere Cloud hybrid platform, packaged blueprints, and partnerships with Mistral AI, Nvidia, and Vast Data targeting private AI use cases like fraud detection. Chief product officer Leo Brunnick says agents must inherit each user's data permissions to avoid failures, and that unique data and processes, not model choice, will separate business winners from losers.
