Xiaomi's MiMo Code Beats Claude on Long Tasks

Xiaomi has open-sourced MiMo Code V0.1.0, a terminal-native AI coding assistant that the company claims outperforms Anthropic's Claude Code on agentic benchmarks, particularly on long-horizon tasks exceeding 200 steps. The claim is based on an internal beta and a survey of 576 developers. The tool is available on GitHub under an MIT license and bundles free access to Xiaomi's MiMo-V2.5 model, which features a one-million-token context window and requires no registration. It installs via a single command on macOS, Linux, and Windows.
