Workiva puts governance first in AI financial reporting
As AI agents proliferate in enterprise software, financial reporting demands more than speed — it requires defensible, traceable output. Workiva is positioning itself as a governance-first platform, placing controls, data lineage and human sign-off at the core of its product strategy, as showcased at its Amplify user conference.
Workiva CPO Deepak Bharadwaj emphasized that AI agents must operate within defined boundaries and always under human supervision. The company's new Agent Studio lets business users define processes without coding, while ensuring every action is tied to an accountable person. As Bharadwaj put it: 'You cannot send an agent to prison.'
