Vance Calls AI Emergency Summit After Anthropic Hacking Demo

Vice President JD Vance convened an emergency conference call with top tech CEOs including Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella and Dario Amodei after Anthropic's new AI model Mythos demonstrated the ability to autonomously discover and exploit cybersecurity vulnerabilities in critical systems. Mythos reportedly cracked major security firewalls including OpenBSD and the Linux kernel and has been withheld from public release. The White House is now considering an executive order for formal AI oversight, while Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent separately briefed major bank CEOs on AI cybersecurity threats. Unauthorized users also reportedly accessed Mythos through a third-party vendor.
