Utilidata Raises $40M to Boost Data Center Power
Utilidata has raised an additional $40 million from Renown Capital Partners and Keyframe Capital, extending its Series C round to over $100 million. The funding will accelerate adoption of Karman, a hardware module that installs in server racks to optimize existing power capacity rather than requiring costly new infrastructure.
Karman measures energy consumption one million times per second and reroutes underutilized power within 20 milliseconds. Built on a custom Nvidia Jetson Orion Nano chip, the module can also reduce over-provisioned power reserves and has applications beyond data centers, including smart grid meters for electrical equipment maker Hubbell.
