TypeSafe AI raises $870M for non-text model Jev
TypeSafe AI has raised $870 million at a $7.5 billion valuation, led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from Sequoia and DCVC. The funding follows the viral September 15 launch of Jev, a transformer-based model that outputs calibrated decisions rather than text. TypeSafe claims a third of Fortune 500 companies are already using it. Co-founder Diogo Almeida, a former OpenAI researcher, says Jev runs faster and uses fewer tokens than LLMs, positioning it for automation rather than text or code generation. TypeSafe was founded in 2024 by Almeida, Sasha Sheng, and Erik Gafni.
