TypeSafe AI raises $40M for software-native AI
TypeSafe AI has emerged from stealth with $40 million in seed funding, led by DCVC, valuing the startup at $200 million. Founded by former OpenAI researcher Diogo Almeida, the company aims to embed AI directly into software applications through its model, Jev.
Unlike conventional large language models, Jev produces structured outputs such as probabilities, list selections, and confidence scores, enabling automated workflows without human review. TypeSafe claims Jev is up to 100 times faster and significantly cheaper than competing models, targeting high-volume business processes like invoice evaluation, security alert triage, and service request classification.
