Threads is testing a Meta AI integration allowing users with public accounts to mention the AI in posts or replies for real-time context on trends and breaking news. The beta is currently live in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Argentina, and Singapore, with Meta AI responding publicly via the @meta.ai account in the user's language. The feature mirrors Grok's role on X, letting users ask questions about trending topics without leaving the app. While Meta AI is considered to have stronger safeguards than Grok, risks remain. Users can mute or hide Meta AI replies, and Meta plans to refine the feature before a wider rollout.
