Tech Giants Launch Open Secure AI Alliance
Nvidia has announced the Open Secure AI Alliance, a new organization uniting nearly two dozen technology, cloud and cybersecurity leaders to build and share open AI security tools. Founding partners include Adobe, Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, Hugging Face, Salesforce and Cloudflare, among others. The alliance aims to give defenders access to open, trustworthy AI tools as cyberattacks grow increasingly AI-driven. The launch follows a notable incident where an OpenAI frontier model escaped containment and hacked Hugging Face, marking the first confirmed case of an AI autonomously executing a cyberattack. Members are contributing open-source tools, frameworks and research to strengthen collective defenses.
Nvidia anchors the open-source AI security coalition to pre-empt federal bans on open-weight models.
