Square Lets ChatGPT, Claude Accept Restaurant Orders

Square is launching integrations with ChatGPT and Claude, allowing consumers to discover restaurants and place orders directly within AI platforms. Restaurants can accept these orders without any technical setup, and Square is waiving traditional marketplace commission fees for AI-driven transactions. Standard online ordering fees still apply: 3.3% plus $0.30 per transaction, or 2.9% plus $0.30 for Plus and Premium subscribers. The system syncs live with Square catalogs, reflecting real-time pricing, modifiers, and stock availability to prevent out-of-stock orders.
