Spotify Lets Users Edit Their Recommendation Algorithm
Spotify is rolling out a feature called Taste Profile to US Premium subscribers, giving listeners direct control over how the platform understands their music and audio preferences. Users can make changes using natural language commands to adjust genres, artists, or overall vibes in their Home feed recommendations.
The feature, first unveiled at SXSW in March and previously tested in New Zealand, addresses long-standing complaints about Spotify's algorithm serving repetitive suggestions. It also lets users exclude content like sleep sounds or kids music from influencing their recommendations. The feature remains in beta with no wider rollout timeline announced.
