SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic Dwarf 25 Years of Tech Exits
A new NVCA-Pitchbook Venture Monitor report reveals a staggering milestone: the pending IPOs of SpaceX, Anthropic, and OpenAI will collectively generate more value than all U.S. venture-backed exits since 2000. SpaceX debuted at a $1.77 trillion valuation, with the trio expected to surpass $4 trillion combined.
For context, total U.S. IPO proceeds last year reached just $70 billion, and Uber's once-massive $84 billion IPO now represents less than 5% of SpaceX's value. Analysts attribute the scale to companies staying private longer and AI's capital-intensive nature inflating valuations to unprecedented levels.
