Snowflake launches AI gateway to control rogue agents

Snowflake has unveiled Cortex AI Gateway, a centralized control layer that governs how AI agents — including those from rivals like Anthropic and Cursor — access enterprise data, tools, and models. The move positions Snowflake as the control plane for AI agent activity, not just a data repository. The launch includes security integrations with 1Password, Aembit, Linx Security, SailPoint, and Saviynt — competing identity vendors now aligned around a shared trust model for autonomous agents.
