Sean Parker Rebuilds Stability AI Around Music
Sean Parker, Napster co-founder, is refocusing Stability AI on music production tools. Two years after joining an $80 million rescue of the struggling image-generator startup, Parker and CEO Prem Akkaraju are unveiling their strategy. In August, Stability secured $76 million from Sony, Warner, and Universal, which also licensed their catalogs for AI training. The company has since released three audio models and music-editing software capable of generating instrumental tracks from text prompts. A forthcoming update will let users hum melodies or beatbox drum patterns to guide the AI.
