ScaleFlux uses smart SSD controllers to fix AI bottleneck
AI infrastructure faces a growing data movement problem: GPUs operate at 20 to 22 terabytes per second, but DRAM runs 37 to 40 times slower and storage runs 800 times slower, creating compounding bottlenecks. ScaleFlux builds SSD and CXL memory controllers designed to treat NAND flash as active memory rather than passive storage. The company has demonstrated over 200 flexible data placement streams and 7 to 10 drive writes per day on standard triple-level-cell NAND, and its NAND-agnostic approach lets customers build around available flash supply.
