SAP Puts Joule AI at Enterprise's Front Door

SAP unveiled its Autonomous Enterprise strategy at Sapphire 2026, repositioning Joule from a chat interface into a central AI engagement layer across its entire platform. The initiative is built on the new SAP Business AI Platform, unifying Business Technology Platform, Business Data Cloud, and Business AI into one governed environment. Users gain access to over 50 domain-specific Joule assistants spanning finance, supply chain, HR, spend management, and customer engagement. A new Joule Studio tool lets both professional developers and citizen developers build custom AI agents and full applications using natural language, with SAP citing IDC projections of 40-times growth in enterprise AI agent deployments by 2029.
